wherever you go

ahhh…

It’s quiet. I’m (almost) alone.  Emery is napping, and Stephen took Myka to the pool.  It’s her first trip, and while I’m disappointed to not be joining in the fun I’m content to have some time to myself.

This morning we slowly got up and ready and then went out for lunch with some friends.  The children were well behaved, and the food was delicious.  What more could you want?!  Haha..  We even played on the playground right outside the restaurant before lunch and stopped for cheesecake afterwards.  It has been a Lovely Thursday so far!

The restaurant we went to is called the Streakhouse.  I really like their food, and most of the time the customer service is very good.  They have these bread sticks that are sprinkled with garlic salt or garlic and salt or something, and they are so good I just keep nibbling on them the whole time we are there.  We should go back soon.  *hint hint*

My belly is full and now the question is – Do I do anything productive with my quiet time or do I just read and watch tv?   My money is on the second option…

Myka

Just some moments I want to remember:

Myka – Can I cut paper with scissors?

Me – Maybe at quiet time.

Myka – Will you put Emery to bed? I think it’s nap time.

Me – No. We haven’t even had lunch yet.

Myka – Momma, you are my best momma!

While playing house:

Myka – We have children.

Me – How many?

Myka – four.

Me – Oh!  What are their names?

Myka – Sandy, Sod, and Sword

Me – ……ok.  And the fourth one?

Myka – Sahdi, the baby.

I’m not really sure I’m spelling that correctly.

February 4th! Already?

Goodness, it’s the Fourth??!  Well, hello February!

I haven’t been on the computer much this week.  I’ve been using it as a television instead.  We have the laptop connected to our tv and watch netflix or hulu.  Emery wasn’t sleeping well which means I wasn’t sleeping well either, so I would find a cartoon to have on in the morning while I rested on the couch and the kids played.  And I was also knitting a washcloth (just for fun, I was curious if I’d like it), so I would watch something in the afternoon while I worked on it.  I find it nice and relaxing to sit, watch tv, and knit.  I can sit and watch a show but also get something accomplished!  How great is that!  Haha!

But if I ever want to read emails, write any blog posts, or figure out what I want to do during our first R&R, I need to use my computer as a computer.

Did you catch that little bit about our FIRST R&R?!!  We don’t have anything booked yet because Myka, Emery, and I need our residency ID cards and visas to get out and back into the country.  Details, details… But we’re working on it!  I’m so excited! I’ll have more about that soon, but here’s a picture.

I. Can’t. Wait.

But right now Myka and I need to clean up a bit and then make some cookies.
